Rules Engine

The IRIS rule interface module (RULES ENGINE) provides a complete rule management subsystem containing:

• Master rule warehouse that allows the storage and cataloging of all rules and rule versions/variants. This facility includes support for both the uploading and downloading of rules, with direct linkage to the integrated version control.

• A fully operational version control process. This includes the logical control of version activation, rule import/export and rule modifications.

• Isolated rule testing environment and testing process, that includes complete documentation of the tests performed, providing a formal validation certificate for sign off before a rule can be validated and made available for activation.

• Complete integration with IRIS, providing a predefined ‘hard point’ for any rule to interact with the end user of the system, and through such interaction to further interact with the host HIS database. All rules reside in an XML coded form in the warehouse and are called into action by IRIS based on the users referral request.

The progression through the session will be controlled by the rule, with IRIS accumulating data and conclusions from the provider interaction, which will yield the ‘approved’ order or orders.
